This is part of a set of oil sketches from some of my favorite places, rich with personal memories.
La Quercia is a little village just outside of the town of Viterbo, Italy. I rented an apartment there during my first trip to Italy with the Boston Visual School in the summer of 1996. It is about 2 kilometers from the art school in Viterbo where we had classes and studios. This is the view from my window. At the end of the short street is a church, Santa Maria della Quercia.
